CHAIR OF THE HIBISCUS & BAYS LOCAL BOARD
ABOUT ME

I was first elected to the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board in 2019 (East Coast Bays subdivision) and have been in the role of Chair since April 2024.

I am proud to be representing and working hard for our amazing community. This blog is one of the commitments that I made during the 2019 local elections – to keep the community informed about the work of the Local Board and to provide a level of professionalism and accountability that you deserve as hardworking ratepayers. I want you, the ratepayers who employ me, to be able to see exactly what I’ve been up to on your behalf.

I was born and raised in the Bays and live in Okura with my husband and our two daughters. I love our community here- from Waiwera all the way down to Campbells Bay, and I want our community to continue being the best place for families to grow and thrive. For me, this means fostering a strong sense of community; protecting our precious coastline and green spaces; promoting effective transport options; and supporting our local economy and town centres.

My background is as a Policy Analyst at PHARMAC, and Communications Manager at the Brain Health Research Centre. I was also a senior staffer for Hon Murray McCully MP in the East Coast Bays electorate office. As his eyes and ears for the community, I successfully advocated for residents. I’m experienced in strategy and policy development, accountability reporting, and preparing near-billion dollar budgets in tight fiscal environments. My expertise in evidence-based decision-making and public consultation ensures your rates contribute to projects and services that deliver results.

In my spare time, I offer services to the community as a Justice of the Peace, I volunteer for a range of environmental groups, North Harbour Community Patrol, and I continue to support my old Browns Bay Rotary Club where I can.
